Buildings with a social agenda can be very rewarding to work on as an architect.  These projects tend not to be high profile; however they often include complex and challenging briefs commonly involving a number of disparate end users with often contrasting requirements.  BCDH have shown that they are happy to listen and involve local groups in developing a response to a particular programme in a specific community rather than reproducing a particular solution or house style.  BCDH have been involved with and gained a reputation working on a variety of such buildings including: primary schools; crèches; community centres; sports clubs and grounds; youth training centres and teaching space for FAS courses.  As a testament to the regard that these communities place on their facilities, one of the crèches recently completed by the practice was opened at a ceremony attended by President Mary McAleese.
